8 WAYS TO BALANCE SELF CARE & FEMPRENEURSHIP

When you work for yourself, you're the boss and it’s really great, isn’t it? But on the other hand, it's also your job to manage your own work-life balance and stress levels- as a female enterpreneur myself I really know it... So I decided it would be great to share something useful - below are eight tips for taking care of yourself when you're starting your side hustle or small biz as a fempreneur.

1. Time Management

Finding this balance can be a challenge, especially when you're first starting out, but it can be done.

Rather than depriving yourself of self-care or feeling guilty about taking time for yourself, try to focus on it as an integral part of your work, and treat it like you would any other aspect of your business.

2. Sleep

You should get your required amount of sleep per night. Everyone is different, and you should find out how much sleep is right for you. You might be tempted to do work while everyone else is sleeping, but that can seriously affect your productivity, mood, and creativity.

3. Exercise

Even an easy activity like walking has significant health benefits.

If you're working a side hustle in addition to a full-time job or have your own biz, it can be really frustrating to carve out time for exercise (believe me, I know), but it's essential for your mental and physical health.

4. Nutrition

Foods high in sugar give you a quick boost but leave you feeling hungry and lethargic. Instead, focus on healthy foods that will keep you going throughout the day. Try preparing smoothies high in protein to feel full.

5. Stress Management

Stress can affect your physical and mental health. Try to schedule in 30 minutes to an hour each day to decompress –IT'S A TOTAL MUST if you want to be productive. Find a form of meditation or exercise that works for you, or listen to music or read a book in the bath. Also, declutter and organize your home to promote positivity and focus.

6. Efficiency

Keeping your side hustle or small biz running requires a lot of focus. Make use of technology to do things like making automatic bill payments and creating to-do lists. Don’t know where to start? There are lots of apps that can help you save time and avoid stress – take a look!

7. Getting Some Help

If you discover that you need help with certain areas of your side hustle, don't be afraid to hire people with the expertise. They might save you time, effort, and money in the long run –you will see! Consider hiring freelancers to handle data entry, customer service, and other responsibilities so you can focus on running your hustle.

8. Take a Friend Shopping

Schedule a retail therapy date with a loved one. Why not? Actually spending quality time with a friend or partner can be a great way to recharge and relieve any stress that might be weighing on you.

Take the day off (I know, it’s hard, but we all need it) and use the opportunity to treat yourself to a meal in a restaurant or a trip to the cinema. Alternatively, you could do some online shopping from the comfort of home with a glass of good wine & face mask.

Recharge

Sometimes the healthiest thing we can do for our business and ourselves is to take a step back and recharge. Just do it and you will see that REST & REFRESH IS A MUST
