WHAT IS BRANDING? THE BASICS

As a looong and difficult explanation by Wiki says, branding is a feature that identifies one seller's good or service as distinct from those of other sellers.


To make it more clear I will say that brand is much more than just a product, service, or even you as an individual person. Actually, if you wanna create successful biz you SHOULD use branding to improve your business or the recognition of your service, cause the term BRAND refers to a business and marketing concept that helps people (your ideal customers and clients) to identify a specific company (like yours) product, service or simply you as an individual.

Brands often use identifying markers to help create their own brand identities within the marketplace. They provide enormous value to the company or individual, giving them a competitive edge over others in the same industry




TYPES OF BRANDS


The type of brand used depends on the particular entity using it. The following are some of the most common forms of brands:

  • Corporate Brands: Corporate branding is a way for companies to market themselves in order to give themselves an edge against their competition. They make a series of important decisions in order to accomplish this, such as pricing, mission, target market, and values.

  • Personal Brands: As mentioned above, branding isn't just for companies anymore. People use tools like social media to build their own personas, thereby boosting their brands. This includes regular social media posts, sharing images and videos, and conducting meet-and-greets.

  • Product Brands: This type of branding, which is also known as merchandise branding, involves marketing one particular product. Branding a product requires market research and choosing the proper target market.

  • Service Brands: This kind of branding applies to services, which often requires some creativity, as you can't actually show services in a physical way.



A LOGO IS NOT A BRAND



These days a lot of people often think that brands are just things like logos, slogans, or other recognisable marks, but actually, brands are considered to be among a company's most important and valuable assets cause good branding can benefit extremely by presenting the company as distinctive, trusted, exciting, reliable or whichever attributes are necessary to that business. Now let's talk about the logo a little bit- so, while the logo is really important to the brand, must say it is just one manifestation form of a brand, although it’s often a top-level communication, seen most frequently by the greatest number of people. It should therefore embody the key ingredients of the brand in a distinctive, recognisable marque.

So, basically, the best technique in branding is to tell a clear story, mission, and vision through communication elements such as corporate identity, packaging, stationery, and marketing materials with their own tone of voice, personality, and visual identity.
